Francisco Carvalho

I build things -> code, tools, instruments,
and, oddly enough, once turned a freezer into an ice bath.
Started programming at 15 with Arduinos.Recently built a full blockchain data extraction app on top of an existing parser during my internship.Currently learning how to raise puppy and ship clean code.

Tech Projects

US Startup MVP (Backend Owner)• Built and owned the entire backend of a US startup MVP.
• Stack: Node.js, Postgres, Redis, Docker, OpenAI API.
• Delivered authentication, API endpoints, documentation, and deployment.
• Full ownership: from local dev → deployment → live product.
Blockchain Data Extraction App• Integrated and scaled an open-source Bitcoin parser (Python) to handle 500M+ transactions.
• Designed the pipeline around it: ingestion, storage in Postgres, caching in Redis, orchestration on a compute cluster (SLURM).
• Focused on scale, reliability, and distributed execution.• Scored 18/20.

DIY Projects

Ukulele Kit Upgrade (Finished!)
• Replaced fretboard, saddle, and bridge with higher-end materials.
• Learned about finishes, wood tones, and acoustic optimization.
Cold Plunge Freezer Mod• Sealed and insulated a chest freezer to safely hold 9 °C water. Designed for cold exposure routines with safety in mind.Garage → Studio Transformation• Converted a dull garage into a creative studio space. Carpentry, lighting, acoustic treatment, full DIY build.
